I want to be PROUD to live in Ohio.  With that, I want to live in a state that makes intelligent decisions and policies around alternative energy. Additionally, I want all decisions and policies to be grounded in the context of the realities of global warming.  Gov. Stickland, please help our state be a place that smart, thoughtful people with a vision of the future are PROUD to call home.

 Local and regional development policy and the lack of comprehensive infrastructure projects have worked hand in glove to make our state more vulnerable to unexpected events such as the current energy crisis and the looming climate crisis. As Governor Schwarzenneger so aptly put it, it is the proper role of government to create and administer steadyfast, long-range policy that supports the economic health of the population and does not shift with ever-changing current events. It is high time that our state adopt new, visionary and forceful means to assure that we become less vulnerable and more self-sufficient. State government ought to implement policies that encourage sustainable energy, sustainable agriculture and sustainable community development. I believe you have the popularity to be bold and creative. With God's help you will also have the support of the legislature after November. In the 28th district we have been encouraged by recent events and will work very hard to assure the success of candidate Connie Pillich, who we know would support the initiatives described above.

 I am a young professional who works in Ohio, has grown up here all my life, and understand how great of a place it is to live, have fun and enjoy.  There is something about Ohio that has been innovative from the onset of its greatness.  Technological advances.  Great thinkers.  World class products and theories.  All these have come from the great state of Ohio.  Not only does this state offer a plethora of knowledge, skilled people and a drive for new and useful products, Ohio also offers a great deal of natural beauty.  From the large central plains region, to the northern Lake Erie district, to the rolling hills of southeastern Appalachia to the woodlands that expand all over the area, Ohio  Since a child, I have reveled in the natural beauty that we have to offer as well as the technological drive to learn, be more convenient and to create jobs to help everyone that Ohio offers.  What better way to continue both these traditions than to join them together with alternative energy.  With my job working in the manufacturing industry (including automotive, aerospace, HVAC, electronics, and, now, wind power) I see the skill and knowledge to push Ohio over the edge as not only a great user of wind energy, but creator of it.  What better way to use wind and alternative energies than to have people and businesses within Ohio benefiting.  The opportunity is there to continue Ohio on its path as a world leader in innovation, manufacturing and hot-bed of human talent.  Please take this and the requests of my fellow "greenies" as a serious commitment from us to ensure the stability of our natural, and personal, resources to strengthen the Ohio that we love dearly.  Thank you! has a lot to offer.

 Ohio needs more renewable enery incentives even beyond the RPS that was passed. We appreciate your RPS that was passed but what else can we do? How about no more tax incentives for coal and oil & gas?

 I have two children who are in their teens right now. I worry constantly about our planet and what my grandchildren will have in the future.Global warming is and should be a big concern.We look to our people in government to help us correct these problems.

 The earth as a planet will survive anything that we throw at it.  Given 1000, 10,000, 100,000 years or longer the planet will recover from anything that humans can subject it to.  The real question is whether we, as humans, will survive.  Given the current course of action and the fragile balance needed to sustain human life on this planet I'm not so sure that will happen.  The time for action is NOW.  The longer we wait the less control over our own destiny we have.  Your actions today won't dramatically affect your lifetime but it WILL affect generations to come.  Do you want your legacy to be that of inaction which doomed the human race.

 I don't look at the world through rose colored glasses. I do not believe that the men and women in government are honest people looking only for a chance to serve. I know that the rich only care about getting richer and the rest of us be damned.Greed is the only thing that seems to matter in this world. And greed is the thing preventing us from saving our world.Factory owners won't spend a little more to clean up their messes because it reduces the thickness of their own wallets. Government employees make deals to keep the status quo. I care. I want change. I want things fixed. I want the world to be at least as beautiful as it was when I entered it.I want the government to listen to those they say they represent. I want clean air, clean water,and cheap fuel.;God put us here to have dominion over the earth. To love and cherish it and do what is best for it. But like everything else man has done we are making a mess of it. We are destroying the world. I care. I care a lot. But nobody cares what I think, I have no money. I have no power. But you do. Do you care? If you do, then do something about it...before it is too late. Do it now! Do it because it is the right thing to do. Do it because God will bless you for it.

Please be proactive to fund and incent innovation and regulation around climate change. There are a few reasons I care so much about this:

1.  I have children.  Most people I know spend countless time and energy to support a good future for their kids -- education, finances, teaching them good morals, ETC.  If we do not have a healthy, livable planet (or region), then all of this is for naught. The one thing that underpins all of our kids' futures is this. Please address it.  They cannot make this choice for themselves - it will be too late.

2. USA and Ohio are capable of profound and creative innovation, but we must have a reason to get started quickly. There are already patents for ideas that could help contribute to better environmental conditions, but there is no compelling reason to get them off the drawing board. Please help us to get the urgent message out and to provide incentives for people to work together.

3. Economic development - we can be an engine for growing innovation and leading the way in the country. This will bring all kinds of quality of life issues for our state, but especially can boost economic development.;Please act now -- before it is too late for our kids -- and, before we lose any "first mover" opportunity.

 17 years ago I attended an Earth Charter conference in Vermont. Today, all these years later, we haven't made any progress on fixing our environmental problems in this country. It's time! We can't wait any longer to do everything we can to save our Mother Earth. Global warming is killing Earth and us right along with it.

 I come from a psychology family that has always supported you.  I have just returned from a 13 day trip to China.  I feel I have seen the future, the good and the bad.   It is imperative that we start immediately to clean up our environment and stay committed to that cause.  It will make the quality of life one that will draw people who care about their health and that of the planet to our state.  It will send us on our way to a good future.  I am appaled that we are #4 in pollutants.  My husband a psychologst, died of non hydgkins I was told pollutants could have caused it.  There is a higher than average incidence here in Cincinnati.  Let's get started for our selves and the world.   Thank you from a voter who thinks you give us hope.

 It's shameful that Ohio is 4th among states' in contributing to global warming. This problem should have been addressed aggressively at the Federal level but, sadly, that hasn't happened. There is one crucial item regarding global warming that virtually everybody wishes too ignore. This item is also too inconvenient for Al Gore, although he is well aware of it. Acknowledging the truth about this item would just upset too many people, both those who gain economic benefit from it, as well as those who consume it. It would just not be politically expedient to make the item an issue. You guessed it. One of the major contributors to global warming as well as the major cause of food shortages in the world, is the raising of animals for food. It is terribly inefficient and a major attack on natural resources. Recent studies  indicate that the process of raising animals for food is contributes far more to global warming (18%) than all modes of transportation (cars, planes, trains, boats) together (12%). A movie ("Meat The Truth") produced recently in The Netherlands fills this gap that has been conveniently left out of Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth. The movie has been enthusiastically received in numerous countries around the world, but, of course, has had no publicity in our country. It is time for you and your government to start educating yourselves about this inconvenient item.  Thank you for your consideration.

 I have children.  Need I say more?  I'd like them to be able to breathe and drink fresh water and raise their children.  Americans consume more than anyone else on the planet.  Isn't it time we DO our share instead of taking more than?  Seems so simple to me. I do my best to do the small daily things I can.  I want my government to do the same.

Global warming is not going to be a huge problem for us but it will be a huge problem for our children and our children's children. They can't make the decisions needed to fight this but you can! We need to start acting now because now is the critical point where we will either make decisions that will save the human race or let us die off like just another species. Please start making decisions that will protect us!!
