The petition, which we will deliver to Ohio gubernatorial candidates, reads:
"Dear candidate,
Lake
Erie and Ohio's State Parks and forests deserve permanent protection,
but lobbyists for the timber, oil and gas industries are pushing to
open them for drilling. From the Hocking Hills, to the Mohican State
Park, to the Lake Erie islands, our public lands represent nature at
its best and destroying them won't solve our energy needs.
Please
sign Environment Ohio's pledge that as an elected ofï¬cial you will support a
ban on drilling in Lake Erie and Ohio's state parks and forests."
